Dried beef lung is freeze-dried lung tissue from cattle, finely ground and filled into capsules. In our product the lung comes 100 % from organic pasture farming and is combined with a share of organic liver. Our capsules make an organ meat that rarely ends up on the plate today practical for everyday life: dried beef lung, neutral in taste and without the effort of preparation.
Which nutrients does dried beef lung with liver contain?
- Vitamin A (retinol): Through the organic liver, the product provides natural vitamin A as ready-to-use retinol, not as beta-carotene. Vitamin A contributes to the normal function of the immune system, to the maintenance of normal mucous membranes, to the maintenance of normal skin and to the maintenance of normal vision.
- Vitamin B12: Organ meats are among the most natural sources of B12. Vitamin B12 contributes to the reduction of tiredness and fatigue, to normal energy-yielding metabolism, to the normal function of the nervous system and to the normal function of the immune system.
- Copper: Natural copper rounds off the profile. Copper contributes to the normal function of the immune system, to normal energy-yielding metabolism, to the maintenance of normal connective tissues and to the protection of cells from oxidative stress.
- Protein and other components: Lung is naturally lean and rich in protein. It also contains other micronutrients such as smaller amounts of haem iron, embedded in the natural matrix of the organ.
All of these nutrients are present in their natural food matrix, together with the co-factors they occur with in nature, rather than as isolated, synthetic single nutrients.
Why combine lung and liver?
The combination is deliberate. The lung forms the lean, protein-rich base, and the liver adds its high density of vitamin A, vitamin B12 and copper. The result is an organ complex that covers more than either organ on its own, inspired by traditional nose-to-tail eating, in which as much of the animal as possible was used.
Immune system and mucous membranes: what vitamin A, B12 and copper contribute
Three nutrients in this product contribute to the normal function of the immune system: vitamin A, vitamin B12 and copper. Vitamin A also contributes to the maintenance of normal mucous membranes. This makes dried beef lung with liver a natural addition for anyone who prefers real food over synthetic single supplements, especially in the colder months.
Why freeze-dried?
Freeze-drying removes water from the lung and liver at very low temperatures without heating them. Unlike heat-dried lung, heat-sensitive nutrients are largely preserved. What remains is the concentrated nutrient density of fresh organ meat: shelf-stable, odourless, neutral in taste and precisely dosed.
Quality and purity from organic pasture farming
Our beef lung comes from organic pasture farming in Estonia. The cattle are grass-fed and raised under organic standards. Each capsule contains only freeze-dried lung and liver, with no synthetic additives, anti-caking agents, fillers or colourings. As an EU organic product, the organs are subject to regular quality controls, and we additionally have them lab-tested for nutrients and purity (see “Lab analyses & certificates”).
Who is dried beef lung for?
Dried beef lung in capsules is a natural alternative for anyone who prefers whole organs over many synthetic single supplements. It suits a nose-to-tail diet, works well for people who do not prepare or enjoy organ meats themselves, and offers a simple way to get natural vitamin B12 and vitamin A from real food.
